Civilian Life

Viceport isn’t only neon skylines, police crackdowns, or gang turf wars. It is also a living, breathing city where thousands of everyday people carve out their lives and experience modern life as a whole. Being a citizen within this roleplay sim means deciding who you want to be, how you want to survive, and what mark you will leave on the city. Roles in the city are vast and diverse; the following are just some of the categories of citizens within the limits of our sim.

The Everyday Hustlers

From food vendors in those neon-lit, sometimes trash-filled alleys to corner store clerks who somehow always know everyone’s business, hustlers make the city run. They are the people selling our much-needed coffee at sunrise, running pawn shops full of questionable goods, or keeping bodegas stocked at 3 AM. The ultimate backbone of Viceport’s economy, and everyone from the dredges of crime bosses to the top city officials depends on them.

The Dream Chasers

Bright lights, glamour, fleeting fame, and the need to have it all can be found within the city limits of our city. Aspiring models, influencers, club performers, DJs, street artists, and more crowd the nightlife scene sometimes with the hopes of making their big break. Some make it big, drawing crowds under the dazzling neon, while others burn out quickly. In Viceport, there is always another chance around the corner

The Professionals

Lawyers, doctors, teachers, mechanics, journalists, reporters, radio personalities. Every city needs them, and Viceport is no different. From the clean-cut, law-abiding types to those moonlighting in shady dealings to make ends meet, professionals come in all types. A mechanic might fix cars by day and strip them for parts by night. Lawyers may feed their own ambitions at the mercy of their clients. A doctor may find themselves paying off their student debt by making house calls to gangs for off-the-record medical treatment. The possibilities are endless, and the story for these characters is sometimes the most rewarding.

The Survivors

Not everyone comes to Viceport chasing dreams or is born here with big aspirations. For some, Viceport is the refuge from their nightmares, and for others, it is their living nightmare. Drifters and runaways find themselves building new lives here, doing what they must to survive. Born and raised citizens have experienced the duality of the only city they’ve ever called home. The survivors of Viceport have been beaten down, used, abused, subjected to the worst the city has to offer, and often find themselves simply trying to stay out of trouble or trying to find a way to rise to the top.

The Socialites

High-end neighborhoods, rooftop bars, and art-deco-filled mansions filled with social climbers and old money heirs make up Viceport’s socialites. These civilians are the city’s glitterati from old money and deep local connections. Behind the glamour of charity galas, wild penthouse parties, and regal public demeanour is where they thrive. Deals struck, alliances made, fortunes rise and fall at the hands of the city's puppetmasters.

The Rebels

Some civilians don’t fit into neat categories or aim to strike their own path. Skate crews, underground poets, hacktivists, and street philosophers fill Viceport’s margins. They aren’t chasing wealth, status, or power but carving out their own version of freedom in a city obsessed with control.

In Viceport, being a civilian isn’t about being a background character. It is about choosing your roleplay path. The city will test you, all while giving you the stage to play out your creativity as a writer.

Here is where your story begins.
